A businesswoman has been accused of conspiring to defraud a foundation overseen by Maurice Akello Misori, the Secretary General of the Kenya Post Primary Education Teacher’s Organization (KUPPET).
Eunice Nduku Musembi appeared in front of Milimani Magistrate Robert Shikwe, where she pleaded not guilty to the allegations of attempting to defraud the foundation of 11 million Kenyan shillings.
According to the charge sheet, Nduku is alleged to have collaborated with an unnamed accomplice to deceive Misori, the CEO of the Misori Japoon Foundation, out of 6.2 million shillings on various occasions between July 1 and September 9, 2023, in Nairobi.
The prosecution further asserted that during the same period, Nduku fraudulently obtained an additional 3.8 million shillings from Misori by falsely claiming she could secure donor funding for the foundation.
