Deputy President Kithure Kindiki and Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen have reached out to the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) for copies of a complaint that seeks their removal from the Roll of Advocates.
Their lawyer, Cecil Miller, indicated that they became aware of the complaint through social media. In a letter to the LSK, Miller requested official copies of the complaint to help them protect their clients’ interests.
The motion for their removal was filed in June by Nairobi-based advocate Kepha Ojijo, who accused Kindiki and Murkomen of gross misconduct and violations of the Advocates’ Code of Conduct during their time as Cabinet Secretaries.
Ojijo claims that their actions while overseeing police operations contributed to violence against protesters during the nationwide Gen Z demonstrations in 2024 and 2025, resulting in deaths, injuries, and disappearances.
