Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations are actively pursuing Isaac Macharia, a land fraudster implicated in deceiving buyers in Thika, Ruiru, and Juja.
Macharia entices victims with fraudulent land deals, only to disappear without a trace. Authorities are calling on anyone with relevant information to come forward.
As the director of Vuka Land Realtors and Eastlink Shelters, he has reportedly defrauded numerous clients by promising them land ownership, yet failing to provide title deeds or complete property transfers.
Many victims find themselves in dire situations after having paid substantial amounts for land that does not exist.
According to reports, Macharia uses aggressive marketing strategies, including staged site visits and fake land ownership documents, to lure buyers.
He convinces clients that the properties are genuine, only for them to realise later that they were duped.
Victims have tried to reach him, but he frequently switches off his phones, making it nearly impossible to trace him.
His last known residence is in Kasarani, Seasons, but authorities believe he operates under multiple identities and phone numbers to avoid detection.
His fraudulent operations have reportedly cost buyers millions, leaving families and investors in financial distress. Some victims have come forward with evidence, showing transactions and agreements that were never honoured.
DCI officers are now gathering statements and compiling evidence from affected buyers as they intensify the search for Macharia.
Law enforcement is urging anyone with information about his whereabouts to report to DCI offices in Juja, Thika, Ruiru, or Kenol immediately.
Meanwhile, affected individuals are calling for swift legal action against Macharia, warning that his fraudulent activities continue to lure more unsuspecting buyers into financial ruin.
“We trusted him because his company looked legitimate,” said one victim. “Now, we have nothing, and he is nowhere to be found. We need justice before he ruins more lives.”
