The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has faced opposition from the complainant regarding an attempt to withdraw a land fraud case valued at over Sh 300 million.
During a court session presided over by Magistrate Geoffrey Onsarigo, it was revealed that the DPP sought to dismiss the case against Abdirahman Muhumed Abdi, also known as Abdi.
The complainant expressed his awareness of no efforts to withdraw the case, emphasizing his commitment to pursuing the matter. Muhumed is charged with forgery and the creation of false documents, specifically related to the fraudulent amalgamation of two land parcels, LR No. 209/10848 and LR No. 209/10849, which he allegedly misrepresented as LR No. 209/16790.
He is accused of forging a title certificate for this land, falsely claiming it was issued by the Ministry of Lands and Physical Planning. Additionally, he faces charges for another forged title deed and for creating a false document, known as P.P.A 2, with the intent to defraud PANSIBA Limited. After pleading not guilty to all charges, Muhumed was released on bail.
Due to the ongoing controversy surrounding the DPP’s withdrawal request, Magistrate Onsarigo has scheduled a mention of the case for August 8, 2025, when he will issue a ruling on the matter.
