A former company director, Honey Khatwani, who is embroiled in a Sh 350 million fraud case, has been instructed to submit his travel documents to the court.

During a ruling on his bond application, Khatwani was granted bail set at Sh 10 million or an alternative cash bail of Sh 5 million, along with the requirement to provide two sureties of the same amount.

Magistrate Dolphina Alego emphasized the necessity of holding his travel documents to prevent any possibility of him fleeing. Khatwani faces charges related to the alleged misappropriation of approximately Sh 356 million belonging to OK I General Trading Limited during his tenure as a director.

In court, he asserted his innocence and requested lenient bond conditions, citing his family ties in Kenya. His attorney, Kennedy Echesa, echoed this sentiment, while the prosecution highlighted the significant sum involved, arguing for stricter bail terms due to potential flight risks. Additionally, Khatwani expressed health concerns and requested medical attention at Avenue Hospital.
