Since making its entry into the Kenyan market in 2017, Mozzart Bet has evolved from a gaming company into a significant contributor to social development across the country. Under the stewardship of Country Manager Sasa Krneta, the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts have flourished—reaching into healthcare, clean water access, and the sponsorship of national sports teams. Over the past three financial years alone, Mozzart Bet has invested more than KSh 245 million in both sports and CSR initiatives.

Mozzart Bet’s CSR journey truly began during the COVID-19 pandemic, with the donation of essential medical equipment to over 50 hospitals nationwide. A particularly heart-warming example was at Waithaka Health Centre, where infant incubators donated by the company played a vital role in saving the lives of premature twins.

In the aftermath of the pandemic, the company turned its attention to long-term water solutions through its “100 Wells for Communities” programme. With 17 boreholes already drilled in counties including Kakamega, Kitui, Busia, Bomet, Turkana, Kisumu, and Makueni, the project has been instrumental in providing safe and reliable water sources to some of Kenya’s most remote communities. These efforts haven’t come without hurdles—teams have navigated treacherous terrain, including 10-hour drives on unpaved roads and even airlifting equipment to hard-to-reach areas. Technical issues like saline or undrinkable water in Turkana and Kajiado also posed significant setbacks.

Beyond community infrastructure, Mozzart Bet has also played a pivotal role in supporting Kenyan sport. In 2022, the company extended a helping hand to the Malkia Strikers, Kenya’s national women’s volleyball team, who had suffered three straight African finals defeats due to lack of adequate support. With a sponsorship package worth KSh 10 million, Mozzart Bet enabled the team to hold a week-long training camp in Serbia and compete in international friendlies, preparing them for the 2022 World Championships. The team went on to win their record tenth African title and qualified for the Paris Olympics—an achievement that symbolises resilience and renewed hope.

In football, Mozzart Bet’s partnership with Kakamega Homeboyz began in 2020 and was recently renewed through to February 2025. In that time, the team lifted the Mozzart Bet Cup and came close to clinching the league title in the 2021/22 season, narrowly losing on goal difference.

Despite its wide-ranging impact, Mozzart Bet operates in a challenging regulatory environment. In 2023, the company paid KSh 4.02 billion in total taxes, rising to KSh 4.76 billion in 2024. While remaining fully tax-compliant, the company advocates for a more balanced tax structure to foster sustainable growth and increased community reinvestment.

As part of its commitment to ethical operations, Mozzart Bet is actively involved in the national “Chukua Control” campaign for responsible gaming, offering tools like self-exclusion options and supporting the rollout of a national helpline for affected individuals.

Looking ahead, the company is focused not on expanding to new markets, but on deepening its roots in Kenya—amplifying its positive impact through strategic partnerships and a firm belief in giving back.
