Zachariah Kariuki, widely recognized as KK Mwenyewe, has sadly passed away following a brief illness.

The beloved comedian, known for his comedic impersonations of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, died while receiving treatment at Kiambu Level 5 Hospital.

His death was confirmed by fellow comedian and content creator Kafengo, who shared the news in a touching Facebook post. Kafengo expressed the heartbreak felt by many, stating, “We Are Heartbroken To Announce The Sudden Demise Of Zakaria Kariuki A.k.a Mr Kk Mwenyewe.

He Passed Away Yesterday Evening While Undergoing Medical Attention At Kiambu Level 5 Hospital.” He also called for support and prayers for Kariuki’s family and friends during this challenging time. Kariuki gained significant recognition in 2022 for his remarkable ability to mimic Gachagua’s accent and mannerisms, all while he was a Computer Engineering student at Kisii University.

His talent resonated widely, leading to a substantial following on social media, including over 1.1 million followers and 19.5 million likes on TikTok, as well as more than 411,000 followers on Facebook. His final skit, posted on July 4, humorously addressed the impact of drug tests on job seekers. Kariuki’s unique comedic style and impersonations endeared him to a diverse audience, both online and offline.
