A businesswoman involved in a fraudulent food supply scheme amounting to Sh 3.1 million has pleaded not guilty to all charges at the Milimani Law Courts.

Grace Kathin Veki appeared before Magistrate Geoffrey Onsarigo, where she denied the allegations against her.

The charges state that between February 1 and February 28, 2024, in Nairobi County, she, along with unidentified accomplices, allegedly deceived Rosemary Ndunge Malonza of Novatus Limited into delivering 400 units of 20-liter Somo cooking oil, valued at Sh 2,358,000.

Furthermore, the prosecution presented evidence that during the period from July 1 to July 30, 2024, Veki and others not present in court purportedly tricked Job Omondi Mark Imboko of Sharklet Enterprises Limited into supplying 150 units of 20-liter Top Fry cooking oil, worth Sh 847,500. Following her arraignment, she was granted bail, set at Sh 1 million or an alternative cash bail of Sh 400,000, pending the resolution of her criminal case.
