The leadership of two road agencies has experienced significant upheaval following the resignation of two senior officials on Friday.
The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) Board has officially accepted the resignation of Eng. Kungu Ndungu, who has held the position of Director General for over three years. This transition marks a pivotal moment for the agency, as it seeks to navigate the challenges ahead.
In light of this change, the board’s chairman, Winfrida Ngumi, has announced the appointment of Eng. Luka Kimeli as the Acting Director General, indicating a swift response to ensure continuity in leadership and operations during this period of adjustment.
Further, Eng. Philemon Kandie tendered his resignation as the Director General of the Kenya Rural Roads Authority (KeRRA).
In his place, the KeRRA board appointed Eng. Jackson Magondu in an acting capacity. Magondu previously held the role of Director in charge of Planning, Design and Environment.
“The Board of Directors would like to appreciate the outgoing Director General for his invaluable service and contribution to the Authority,” the statement read in part.
In both instances, the road agencies declined to provide further reasons for their resignations.
