Kenyan lawyer Thomas Ngoe has urged both the protestors and the police to be peaceful in the upcoming protests scheduled for Wednesday.
Speaking to the press on the matter on Saturday morning, Ngoe said that violent protests can negatively affect the economy and drag the country to its knees.
” I want to call on calm and patient from all Kenyans. To be specific, i want to urge both the Genzs and the police to restrain from using violence. We need to see a peaceful protests on Wednesday as it the only way of safeguarding our economy,” he said.
Ngoe while responding to the recent infiltration of the peaceful protestors by goons said that, the police needed to have acted on time.
” We saw how the goons were attacking and robbing innocent protestors off their items in the last protests as the police watched. I condemn that act and I now call the government to act and stop such behaviour from reccuring,” he said.
The said attacks were later condemned by the Inspector of Police Douglas Kanja, Governor Sakaja and other leaders.
Some opposition Politicians acussed Governor Johnson Sakaja of being the previous chaos witnessed in the city.
” Sakaja is behind the chaos we witnessed in the City, its so embarrassing and uncalled for, this city requirea dignity,” said Embakasi Member of Parliament Babu Owino.
Sakaja downplayed the claims. Ironically the said goons walked past City hall giving praises and thanks to the Governor claiming that they have protected and sanitized the city from protesters.
” Hey Governor Sakaja, the job you gave us is well done and dusted, we have secured the Nairobi CBD from protestors, we have done our job,” the said.
Some goons were also attacked and beaten up during the said commotion and are nursing injuries in various hospitals within the CBD.
